A mosque of coloured marble
Inside the Laleli Mosque, the coloured marble panelling in shades of yellow, red and dark blue, the baroque mihrab and the minbar stand out. The mosque rises above shops and an arched bazaar; the rent from these shops provided income for the mosque’s endowment. The tomb of Mustafa III and his son Selim III is to the south-east of the mosque.
